Coach Best has been coaching for 17 years, and has coached 26 wrestlers who have or who are competing in college. He has coached 72 high school state placers in Oklahoma and Texas, 23 of which were state champions. In the last 7 years, he has coached teams to 7 straight state dual team championships and 6 straight UIL team state championships. Over his career, Coach Best has a dual record of 258-72.

Coach Best has been coaching for 20 years, and has coached 34 wrestlers who have or who are competing in college. He has coached 106 high school state placers in Oklahoma and Texas, 38 of which were state champions. In 2007 & 2009, Coach Best received DFW Area Coach of the Year honors. Coach Best was Region III Coach of the Year (CoY) 2009, ’10, ’11 & Region II CoY in 2013. He received Texas State High School CoY honors in 2009 & 2011, 2013 NWCA Texas CoY and Region 6 National CoY, as well as 2014 NFHS Texas CoY and 2014 NFHS Section 6 National CoY.

In 2015, Coach Best received the NFHS Texas State CoY as well as the NFHS Section 6 Coach of the Year (CoY) awards. He received Texas State High School wrestling CoY honors in 2009 & 2011, as well as 2013 NWCA Texas CoY and Region 6 National CoY. In 2007 & 2009, Coach Best received DFW Area Coach of the Year honors. Coach Best was Region III CoY 2009, ’10, ’11 & Region II CoY in 2013.

Jerry Best has also coached 126 age group USA All-Americans or National Champions in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco. This includes 3 Cadet World Freestyle members, 1 Junior World Freestyle member, 1 University World Freestlye member, and 2 Cadet Womens World Team member. In the last few years, he has led 233 wrestlers to state placing finishes with 100 TX State Champs, 67 National Champions, 6 Trinity Award Winners, 5 World of Wrestling Wrestlers of the Year and 5 Triple Crown Winners.
